Three of the nation’s largest steam locomotives attending the St. Louis NRHS convention traveled three different routes in a spectacular display of mainline steam action.

CSX and Norfolk Southern are the major players in this region and plenty of heavy-duty action is seen from both railroads, but we also see a lot of unusual and shortline railroading.
