Chicago is a railroad town and there are a number of great hot spots here – some which Highball Productions has covered previously in their Hot Spots series, such as Blue Island and Roosevelt Road. La Grange and Homewood are two hot spots along the I-294 corridor of Chicago suburbs. The track arrangements may not change all that much, but the railroad companies and colors sure do – notably Canadian National is a more recent entrant into the Chicago railroad landscape. Find a location with plenty of train movements and a great viewing location … and enjoy! It’s a formula that has worked well with Highball’s other “Hot Spots” programs, and you won’t be disappointed with this one. You’ll see multiple railroads, a variety of locomotive models and paint schemes and interesting consists, and the “bonus” is that this program includes two locations. The videography is solid, and there’s just enough helpful narration to explain what you’re seeing. A nice addition to the Hot Spots series and to any railfan video collection.

This is the best of the Hot Spot series so far. Lots of action with the 2 different locations featured. Plenty of narration to keep the viewer informed along with details of the motive power used. Very enjoyable video.
