On October 26th and 27th 2013, NKP #765 pulled a pair of public excursions dubbed as the Wabash Cannonball, from Ft. Wayne to Lafayette, IN over the NS former Wabash and part of the Cannonball’s route.
The locomotive put on a fantastic show with plenty of stack talk and whistle, and no diesel in its consist.

Nearly 10 years ago, the 1944 Lima Ohio built Berkshire operated on Norfolk Southern’s short lived steam revival. Here 765 is rolling through the route of a streamliner named after a famous song at locations like Edsall Road bridge in Fort Wayne (4 scenes at the same location one day & again the next day), Route 24 at Wabash, New Waverly with a bunch through a spot where the pumpkins are growing on the ground, Alongside Route 25 in Clymer where it meets with a BNSF freight that had a Santa Fe Warbonet in charge, Colburn with 2 scenes of the curve on the return trip & the next day with only 2 at milepost 245), Roanoke (Not 611’s birthplace/residential home in Virginia), & Peru (not the country in South America but does have 2 scenes at the same location).
There are also 3 NS freights: a Triple Crown Roadrailer with one diesel on the point, a 2-unit mixed freight with Union Pacific 3302, and 4-unit mixed freight.
All of these scenes were captured by the late Roger Holmes & just like many of his titles, this one is also Un-Narrated but has on screen subtitles.
