Rochelle, 75 miles west of Chicago, is one of the most visited railfan hot spots in the Midwest with 85 trains hammering the diamonds on a good day. The former CNW, now UP main line to Omaha crosses the former BN, now BNSF line to the Twin Cities at grade. A park was being built next to the diamonds when this was shot in Sept. 1997.
