We see the legendary 2-8-4 Berkshires of the Nickel Plate Road in action between 1957 and 1959 in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Besides NKP 700 series Berks we see former W&LE, now NKP, 800 series Berks and Mikados on the NKP Cleveland and Buffalo Divisions. This is truly amazing and exciting steam action.
Shot at the end of the 1950s as this is, we are looking at the steam to diesel transition era and so we also get to see ALCo PAs in “Blubird” paint and even EMD GPs, the latest in road power for the day.
