Pasqua, Belle Plaine, Indian Head Sub: Our first prairie railfan location is the USA/Canadian prairie border checkpoint entering North Dakota. Then we run up the Indian Head Sub with Pasqua and the junction with CP’s Weyburn Sub and then Belle Plaine. At Belle Plaine we see the construction of a new rail-served potash mine. We get a good look at Canadian Pacific action on home CP rails. One Hour.
Eastern Wainwright Sub, featuring Fabyan Trestle: The Fabyan Trestle, crossing the Battle River in Alberta, is the second longest steel trestle in Canada. We get some great shots here, including seeing Via Rail parked waiting for clearance! At 195 feet high it belies its location on the Canadian prairie. Our ultimate destination is the head-end of the sub at Biggar, Saskatchewan on the way we railfan traffic by old and new grain facilities and a large materials plant. One Hour.
Please note: This is a railfan production. There will be more zooms and less polish than you may be used to seeing. There will also be more unusual trains and places than we usually have available to see.
