During the height of the “Great Flood of 1993” when the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers overflowed their banks and caused railroads to detour traffic around the flood. Lots of traffic and different traffic patterns. Highlights include the Santa Fe on the Union Pacific and Illinois Central, The Texas Eagle through Effingham, Illinois, a power move with 15 units in St. Elmo and Soo Line power through Salem.
As an added bonus to the video, a full 20 minutes of flood damage along the Chester Subdivision of the Union Pacific, filmed from a helicopter is included at the end of this presentation
