From October 2022 to the end of 2023, we followed many veteran EMD led trains on the Staples Subdivision. By the end of 2023, BNSF moved nearly all these survivors out of the Northtown terminal, to be replaced by GE’s.

Since then, many of the older mainline EMDs have been either purchased by regionals and shortlines or retired and scrapped. BN colors still adorn few locomotives while many are dressed in BNSF black and orange. Most of these locomotives are on borrowed time, so capturing these now was a must.
