In this recent Program, which is a great companion to the other Railway Productions’ Winter Steam Shows, there are 2 passenger specials which are captured in the Month of February.
First comes a 2017 charter on the Grand Canyon Railway in Arizona with Lake Superior & Ishpeming 29 & Burlington 4960 performing separate runbys as well as a doubleheader. Prior to this program, most of these scenes were shown on the 2017 Marshall Publishing DVD: Lots & Lots of Really Big Trains.
Afterwards, we rewind a year to February 2016 on the Reading & Northern as Former Gulf Mobile & Northern 425 operates a 5 coach passenger train while wearing a reading 6 chime whistle which was previously used on T1 class 4-8-4 number 2102 as it roars through the Pocono Mountains of Eastern Pennsylvania.
This is the Second RP title to have 4960 (First shown on 2012’s Big Steam with Santa Fe 3751), & the second to feature 425 since the 1990 Video: The Blue Mountain & Reading Story which was also used on the Marathon of Steam Volume 2 Compilation tape from 1994 along with the 1989 short: From the Redwoods to the Boardwalk, & the 1992 Version of the Illinois Railway Museum.
One thing that these 2 specials on these 2 railroads have in common, is that they were all organized by Mr. Pete Lerro.
