Visit two Union Pacific lines through Kansas: The Coffeyville Sub is former Missouri Pacific and runs from Neff Yard in Kansas City to Coffeyville, Kansas City. The roughly parallel Cherokee Sub runs from Parsons, Kansas to McAlester, Oklahoma.
This program was shot using good “prosumer” equipment of the time, but is not up to the clarity of today’s high-definition video. It is however an excellent snapshot of an important time and place in the nation’s railroad history.

A fine tour of two busy Midwest lines that don’t get much attention from railfan video producers. The footage is almost 30 years old, so you get a nice feel for the locomotive models, consists and rail traffic from a generation ago. There’s just the right amount of informative narration to explain the operational and historic significance of the two lines. And don’t let the “video quality” disclaimers keep you from trying any of MoKan’s programs; the historical value of these productions far outweighs any shortcomings you might find in the video.

Another fine video by MoKan. The production was made using older camera equipment, close to 30 years ago, so the quality is not to the standards we are used to today. Don’t let this discourage you. Here is a fine video, showing lots of heavy trains on line that we do not often see. There is plenty of interesting scenery along the way, and the narrator does a great job explaining everything.
