The Green Bay & Western Railroad operated a fascinating 100% Alco powered diesel fleet. The colorful GB&W had a remarkable 122 year history before becoming a fallen flag to the Wisconsin Central in 1993.

Their rail line stretched 255 miles from the shore of Lake Michigan at Kewaunee and traveled through Wisconsin’s scenic forests and farmland to reach the Mississippi River and a connection with the Burlington Northern at East Winona. Part Two of this two part series features switching and locals in Wisconsin Rapids, Plover and Green Bay; Norwood Yard action, roundhouse and turn table; Kewaunee Branch and railcar ferry action; a few road freights. Also GB&W passenger trains including: a business train and the 1993 farewell to the GB&W excursion. Plus connecting railroads FRV, C&NW and the E&LS.

And of course that great GB&W Alco sound and smoke are featured with diesel models: RS11, RS3 / 20, C420, C424 and RS27. Rail footage era 1987-1993.

Compared to Vol. 1 this has more “locals”. They follow a few around Plover and catch the boat train. They follow a hot shot intermodal train with an RS20 leading. Lots of passenger extras at the end of the program. Solid DVD.
