CSX’s Northern Indiana line has few curves and slight grades, is double tracked and a busy line. This is 24 hours on the Garrett Sub at Nappanee, about 100 miles East of Chicago. You’ll see every train and the entire train, with expert commentary on the trains and the line. The sub is home to 2-mile long stack trains and heavy unit and manifest traffic. For a time after the 1999 break-up of Conrail, CSX referred to this line as their “new expressway”. See it here less than 3 years after CSX took ownership of the line.
