Join us as we go back in time when America’s railroads were operating at full capacity during the early winter of 1943, as vast amounts of weapons, supplies, raw materials and people were moved on the C&O Hinton Division’s Alleghany & New River Subdivisions for the war effort. The Narrow gauge railroads were also doing their part too, as we see from the operations of the Mann’s Creek RR, which interchanges with the C&O on dual gauge track at Sewell.

You will see authentically recreated track plans, buildings, and scenes in this model masterpiece. C&O modeled locations include Alleghany • Hinton • Thurmond • Sewell • New River Gorge • Hawk’s Nest and Price Hill. Mann’s Creek Narrow Gauge modeled locations are Landisburg • Sewell and Clifftop. C&O locomotives seen include 0-8-0 • 0-10-0 • 4-6-0 • 2-8-0 • 2-8-2 • 4-6-2 • 4-6-4 • 4-8-2 • 2-8-4 • 4-8-4 • 2-10-4 • 2-6-6-2 • 2-8-8-2 • 2-6-6-6 while MCNG locomotives are Shay • Climax and even a Railbus.

We’ll look at trackside operations with 35 Different Trains (Coal, Manifest, Local, Passenger, Military), and look at the layout with closeups, panoramic overviews and a layout specs overview.

After seeing this great layout, you’ll want to know how Ted Pamperin has done all of this beauty, don’t worry, next on the agenda how-to-clinics that cover an entire module built, including • Create & Paint a Rubber Rock Outcropping • Build Mountains with Foam & Paver Sand • Color & Plant Trees without Foliage and use of Flexible Adhesives. We’ll also get some rare tips on Detailing of WWII Military Trains, including • Armor Train • Troop Train and a military Oil Train.
