We’ll see pre-merger Southern Pacific on the Central Corridor in Colorado and the SPCSL (SP Chicago St. Louis) into Chicago. Together these lines funnel a lot of traffic over the mountains and plains into Chicago.

Over SP 50 trains are seen! Locations include Glenwood Springs on Southern Pacific/Rio Grande tracks and along Santa Fe tracks across the Mississippi River and at scenic Edelstein Hill. Includes mainline and local trains. Many locals use cabooses.

This is vintage nineties footage, shot using nineties equipment. It is not as sharp as programs shot today. Still, these are interesting scenes, many not covered elsewhere, and the narration is informative and top notch.

    The is great for Southern Pacific or Rio Grande fans as well as anyone that likes big western railroading. Yes, the quality isn’t Hi-Def but quality of video is more than made up by variety of motive power and scenes that can’t be recreated today.

    If your a fan of the SP or D&RGW this DVD is for you.
    I had the chance to visit those beautiful railroad in the 80’s and this DVD is a welcome addition to SP and D&RGW fan lovers.
    Not sharp as Pentrex or other companies, this DVD worth the price.
