This is a quality show with 16mm original films expertly transferred to video for your viewing pleasure. There is a wealth of material here with both riding and trackside views between 1954 and the early 1970’s. This covers freight and passenger trains on the 4th Division of the Denver and Rio Grande Western between 1954 and the early 1970s. We ride some of the excursions from Alamosa to Durango and Silverton, and see some freight action along the way. Also included is a lot of human interest with engine servicing and much more. This is classic material, and the quality is quite nice for films this old. Lots of good historical narration with appropriate relaxing background music.

Through the 16mm silent films of Jim Holmes, this is one of the longest vintage steam videos that Greg has ever released. From 1954 to the early 70s, there are a great variety of locomotives on the Alamosa to Chama line, the since been ripped up Chama to Durango line, & on the Silverton branch. Like many of Greg’s 2017 titles minus the original 1987 editing of N&W 1218 rebuilt & Roanoke bound, this was narrated by Brian Sellers.
