This is a fantastic video, do note however that is was shot before the amazing return of Reading T1 2102. There are small railroads that run steam locomotives with a high frequency of occurrences. There are large railroads that run steam on occasion. There are no railroads, however, like the Reading & Northern, who run steam power nearly year-round and over a vast network of lines. This video takes a look at both locomotives that operate over R&N rails – 4-6-2 Pacific-type #425, and former Central Railroad of New Jersey 0-6-0 switcher #113. You see both locomotives run in a variety of seasons, with different consists and numerous locations. Included is bonus footage of visiting Nickel Plate Road #765 making a trip over both Norfolk Southern and R&N rails in 2015. 4 times a year, in the spring summer fall and winter, the Reading & Northern runs a double-header with Jersey Central 113. The video catches the action from from both trackside and onboard. There’s also footage of Jersey Central 113 on a solo run. And, for a real treat, 16 minutes of bonus footage focuses on a visit from NKP 765 in 2015. Lots of steam on this one!
