Watch incredible steam action on the Heber Valley and Nevada Northern railroads – with 3 engines in action! The Heber Valley’s Baldwin Consolidation type 2-8-0, a former Union Pacific freight engine puts on a magnificent display with a photo freight in Utah’s snow covered Wasatch Mountains, awesome runby action, all sound and fury! Sunrise to sunset action in superb weather.

Next is the Nevada Northern, where we take a step back in time in the engine house, then it’s off to lineside for runby action, with recently overhauled passenger 4-6-0 #40 strutting her stuff with a passenger train, including a 124 year old Pullman palace car, and Alco 2-8-0 #93 with a freight train making the valley’s echo with her whistle and exhaust. Some magnificent action in Nevada’s high country.

On the Heber Valley Railroad, Union Pacific 618 wore 2 different Whistles: its own Peanut 5 chime, & a deep toned Sreamboat type that came with Great Western 75. On one day, 618 is doing some switching to reach for a tank car with water.

On the Nevada Northern, Ten Wheeler number 40 is on a 2 car passenger train, while Consolidation 93 is on a freight.

Some of these scenes were later shown in Lots & lots of trains Part 3 by Marshall publishing.

Great winter scenery from Nevada and Utah. All 3 steam locomotives are well over 100 years old now but they still put on a great show for photographers. This is “a must have” for your video library collection.

These Blu-Rays are great – shot in 2014 in Heber City, Utah and Ely, Nevada, these trains were “photographer specials.” The Heber Valley Railroads’ little Consolidation # 618 (now torn down and not running) looks particularly sharp as she is filmed doing run-bys with freight consists in the Scenic Heber Valley and adjacent Provo Canyon. The HD video and sound is the real star of the show – beautiful!!! The footage of #93 and #40 in Ely are also excellent as you get to see both passenger and freight consists. Highly recommended!!!!
