Argo is a hot spot located in Summit, Illinois, on the western edge of Chicago. Three locations provide great train action: The Indiana Harbor Belt’s Argo Yard, the Belt Railway of Chicago junction and the Illinois Central and CSX Crossing. Every major railroad in Chicago has overhead trackage rights and so we see a huge variety of trains.
Shot from 1995 through 1999, we’ll see a variety of railroads, trains and changes in the local railroad landscape.
This is vintage mid-nineties footage, shot using nineties equipment. It is not as sharp as programs shot today. Still, these are interesting scenes, many not covered elsewhere, and the narration is informative and top notch.
