This program covers most of the United States with a cross country look at American railroads, mostly pre-WWII and mostly in color. 31 railroads are shown in this wonderful review of railroading from the late 1930s through the early 1950s, including fan favorites such as the New York Central, C&O, Southern Pacific, and Santa Fe.
We’ll see many rare railroad subjects, and all from crisp clear 16mm original film. This is a rare look at the high-water mark of steam in the United States.
