Conrail Fast Freights The Middle Division

This exciting program opens with a spectacular shot of an entire high speed Conrail freight train powered by three GP-40-2 diesels running over you and continues with trackside action on Conrail’s Pittsburgh line (the former P.R.R. Middle Division) between Lewistown, PA and Enola Yard, including lots of action around the famous Rockville Bridge, which is the longest stone arch railroad bridge in the world. Also featured are Amtrak’s “Broadway Limited” and “Pennsylvanian” at many scenic locations along the Susquehanna and Juniata Rivers. Scenes in this video were shot between June, 1989 and January l990. The program ends with another high speed Conrail freight passing over the camera in the reverse direction headed west to Pittsburgh. 60 Minutes – Color – Sound
