The 1990s may have been the last decade of ?Classic St. Louis Railroads?. Shot mainly between 1990 and 1994, we look at some of the major changes in the local railroad scene. You will see fewer Missouri Pacific locomotives, the test runs of the Metrolink Light Rail System and a couple of train on the final day of Conrail, June 1st, 1999.
Mainline steam is represented with several glimpses of the Frisco 1522 and UP 3985 is seen on its way to a date with the Clinchfield Santa Train in 1992.
The ever changing railroad scene is clearly seen in several locations that are visited numerous times in the volume, like Grand Ave and its manually operated grade crossing, Kirkwood Station and you will even take a look inside of Lenox Tower in Mitchell, Illinois.
