By 1958, mainline steam in the United States was geting to be very rare. There were still pockets of hold out, but Don Krofta had already filmed those survivors. So he went North to Canada where steam power was still a prime mover of freight and passengers. By 1960, steam would be rare North of the border too, but Don was able to catch Canadian National and Canadian Pacific steam on these trips to Ontario.
In four trips, Don caught steam at London, Sudbury, Windsor, Palmerston and Stratford. Thanks to his efforts we see a lot of steam, CN power includes 4-6-, 4-6-2, 4-6-2, 4-8-0, 4-8-2, 2-8-0, 2-8-2 while the Canadian Pacific was rostering 2-8-0, 2-8-2 and 4-6-2 and 4-6-4 steamers in Ontario. We’ll also see a few of those new fangled diesels.

Anonymous, We have the facts correct. We wrote, “Steam on the Canadian Pacific is seen at London, Ontario and then about 30 miles to the north-northeast at Stratford…”. You are just wrong. If you look at a map, Stratford is North/Northeast of London. As you can see here: https://tinyurl.com/LondonStrafordGoogleMaps
I realize that London can be described as Southwest of Stratford – but your claim in that we were wrong. We were not wrong. Period.
Others: This is a response to a Facebook post – NOT about the product.
