It is the first year for operations on the BNSF, but the Santa Fe personality and paint is still dominant on the BNSF Chillicothe Sub, the former Santa Fe Chillicothe Sub. 90% of the power is still Santa Fe, with an occasional Burlington Northern engine and a new BNSF paint schemes thrown into the mix.
This is Volume Two of a two volume series. Volume Two shows us the subdivision West of Chillicothe. Locations include Edelstein Hill, Houlihan’s Curve, Dahinda, Galesburg, Cameron and the Mississippi River crossing at Ft. Madison.
This is vintage nineties footage, shot using nineties equipment. It is not as sharp as programs shot today. Still, these are interesting scenes, many not covered elsewhere, and the narration is informative and top notch.
