Alliance, Ohio, 83 miles northwest of Pittsburgh and 57 miles south of Cleveland, was one of Conrail’s most important junctions. Trains from Pittsburgh head north to Cleveland and Chicago or west on the former Pennsy main line towards St. Louis.

This video covers Conrail at Alliance for almost 24 hours in April 1997. Almost every train is shown in it’s entirety. Each train is identified along with it’s origin and destination as well as information about what the train is carrying, where some cars are picked up and set off and even some history of the train back to the PRR days. It was very informative and I recommend it.
