Go back to 1988 and visit the Cornhusker State of Nebraska. In this program, we will view footage of the Burlington Northern in the Sand Hills region, including the yard in Alliance and the summit of Crawford Hill, before heading south to watch the action in the many small towns along the Union Pacific Overland Route
There is plenty of action and power from several other railroads, including Kansas City Southern and the Missouri Kansas Texas. Several Surprises are seen, such as a double eagle Missouri Pacific SD40-2 on an intermodal train that also includes a cut of steam era live stock cars hauling hogs to California.
This program may be short, but it is not short on action as coal train after coal train work through the Sand Hills in Western Nebraska and intermodals doing track speed on the relatively?flat Overland Route. You will want to view this program over and over again as we put as much action as we could in this 42 minute video!
