Hawoods Siding, December 2019: Hawoods Siding is the first siding west of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on Canadian National’s transcon. As such it sees a lot of use. It’s an 11,300 foot siding on the Watrous Sub. Trains run in the winter just as any other time of the year, it just takes more dedication to shoot them. 🙂 One Hour.

Hawoods Siding, January 2020: Back on the CN Watrous Sub at busy Hawoods Siding. On the CN transcon between Toronto, Ontario and Vancouver, British Columbia. We station ourselves along the siding and at each entrance, about MP 206 to MP 209 on the Watrous Sub. Temps are as low as -26C/-15F with a windchill of -48C/-55F. Brrr! One Hour.
