Return to the year 1947 and ride behind a Santa Fe steam powered triple-headed National Model Railroad Association fan trip over Colorado and New Mexico’s Raton Pass. On California’s Cajon Pass, the special is powered by a steam powered double- header. The NMRA special also meets the PA diesel-powered Santa Fe “Chief” and the steam powered Southern Pacific “Daylight”.
You are also aboard a D&RGW train over Colorado’s snow covered Tennessee Pass. See massive D&RGW articulateds at Minturn, Colorado. There’s Rio Grande Narrow Gauge action at Durango, Silverton, Chama, Alamosa, Gunnison, Salida and Marshall Pass. And, as a bonus, we see a rare black and white scene shows a Rio Grande Southern Narrow Gauge freight meeting a Galloping Goose.
From beautifully restored vintage 16mm color films by Billy Bowen.

This program has a ton of interesting subjects, from narrow and standard gauge steam in Colorado to mainline steam and diesels in California.

A very unique video. Rio Grande standard & NG in action, RGS action, Santa Fe steam and PA’s and even some SP Daylight & GS-4 action. My only fault with this one is…..it’s too short! It leaves you wanting to see more.

This one is pretty neat. It’s very short but has great footage that draws you in quite well. Every scene in this DVD is a must see from climbing Marshall Pass, climbing Raton Pass behind a triple header, and riding the RGS.
