Canadian National Wainwright Sub

Biggar to Unity, September 2016: In two trips we take a big chunk out of the Wainwright sub, which runs from Biggar, Saskatchewan to Edmonton, Alberta. We begin this first part of our look at this sub in September of 2016 at Biggar and head to Unity, Saskatchewan. Unity is near the Alberta Border and hosts both CN and CP mainlines. One Hour.

Artland to Fabyan, November 2016: Right on the Saskatchewan and Alberta border is the abandoned railroad town of Artland, Saskatchewan and where we begin our railfanning of the Wainwright Sub in November 2016. From Artland we see trains at Wainwright, the Sub’s namesake town, and then head to Fabyan. At Fabyan we see a great lineup of trains, many on the famous Fabyan Trestle. We’re there for the good sunlight and at dusk for some nice shots at the sun goes down. Our final train comes at a grain elevator at Leney, on the CN Watrous Sub. One Hour.

Please note: This is a railfan production. There will be more zooms and less polish than you may be used to seeing. There will also be more unusual trains and places than we usually have available to see.
