In part two of BNSF’s Chillicothe Subdivision, videographer Chris Wehman continues our westward journey on the super-busy BNSF Chillicothe Subdivision.

We begin in 2001 at Montana Rail Link’s Laurel Yard in Laurel Montana, this is the largest yard on the Montana Rail Link.
GE’s GEVOs have become the locomotive of choice for class one railroads and some regionals in the United States. Since then, many of the older mainline EMDs have been either purchased by regionals and shortlines or retired and scrapped. We continue to explore the South and follow NS and CSX. In this volume we visit Bessemer, Alabama, the Chattanooga, Tennessee area plus the hot spot of Dalton, Georgia.
BNSF still runs several trains with older EMDs on their Staples Sub in Minnesota. A huge variety of 4 and 6 axle EMDs can be seen on both local and road freights. BN colors still adorn few locomotives while many are dressed in BNSF black and orange. Most of these locomotives are on borrowed time, so capturing these now was a must.

We’ll follow the railroad’s mainline from Kansas City, Missouri to the Gulf of Mexico, with additional coverage of the Meridian Speedway and Texas Subdivision. See KCS EMDs wearing their white “ghost” paint scheme, as well as the newer gray paint scheme with yellow safety stripes.
We’re there for the last years for the Central of New Jersey, including operations on the Chimney Rock branch, the High Bridge branch and the Lehigh Valley to Newark. Narration and commentary by Mike Bednar.
