We have assembled this collection of various newsreels and military films into this one DVD. Subjects or titles include “U-boat Menace”, “Russia Strikes Back”, and “Flotation Gear For Tanks”. One segment is on retreating from China (U.S. forces, and civilians) which includes blowing up an airfield, plus air operations. There is a segment on supplies in Belgium, including rebuilding a railroad bridge and a couple of trains. We also see troops in the Po Valley of Italy battling conditions after heavy rains. An Army-Air Force film shows P-47 attacks on various locations in Italy, and air action before and after D-Day France. Another segment is on the British retaking Greece, and the use of C-47 transports for paratroopers. Another segment shows C-47’s and gliders in France during and after D-Day. There is a lengthy film (incomplete) on the battle for Okinawa, and another film called “Camera Thrills of the War” and includes air and ground actions.

  1. T.A.R.

This film was great and very informative on some of the aspects of world war 2. It gives you some history of ww2. Included are titles like “U-Boat Menace, “Russia Strikes Back” and ” Flotation gear for Tanks”. See segments on retreating from China where they blow up an air field, see battles in Italy, see the British take Greece, and see c-47’s for paratroopers. An all around good film about some of the aspects of ww2. 87 minutes long.
