Historical, dating back to the 1950’s. This is a very interesting video collection on safety practices, the building of the Barstow yard, and the Argentine yard at work not long after it opened. An added addition is a study on what could cause a derailment. I found it interesting to see things like proper lifting techniques, and how best to swing a mallet. How to get on and off rail cars, and how best to give signals. And there is a story with a rail road worker who makes a new purchase, only to receive damaged goods (Pay Day). Here the railroad man’s story as to where the damage could have occurred. There is a wide variety of 1st generation diesels, including turbines. Lots of yard work with humping action at Argentine, and mainline action as well. Anything that you want to see… it’s all here. The interest in this one video is really something else. Everyone including the kids enjoy this video. For my boys, they like to say “Dad, is that what it was like when You were a boy, along time ago?” lol. I am very pleased to have this video in my collection. A “Must Have” for rail enthusiests and fans alike.
