The Wisconsin Central Ltd. was the nation’s largest regional railroad and this DVD video captures the WC during their ice bound winter months. Trains are seen traveling across the beautiful frozen landscape of Wisconsin and Michigan. The harsh Midwest weather ranges from frigid below zero sunshine to heavy snowstorms. The non-stop Wisconsin Central train action includes: road freights, locals, yard switching, intermodals, log, paper, coal, coke, and taconite trains. A cold, blustery, wintery, exciting look at this fallen flag.
All of the WC’s diesel models are featured in this program plus a few trains of the CN, UP, and the LS&I. Some of the locations include: Neenah, Stevens Point, Marquette, Little Lake (MI), Junction City, Owen, Chippewa Falls, Superior, Colfax, Stanley, Solon Springs, Hawthorne, and South Itasca. Volume Two of a four volume series on the WC from Plets Express. Includes a nice map of the area covered.

In part 2 of the Plets Express Wisconsin Central series that was made in 2002 (Part 1 was made in 2000), there are a variety of diesels working in the snow which was shot in February of 2001 shortly before the WC was purchased by Canadian National, at locations like Neenah Wisconsin, Junction City on the Valley Line with the Diamond crossing over the Milwaukee Road as well as a Semaphore Signal, Milepost 72 near Dolton, the Weyerhauser paper mill at Rothchild, Mosinee, Rocky Run Crossing, downtown Stevens Point Yard with the SOO Line depot, Auburndale, Green Bay with the Chicago & Northwestern Station, Little Lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Marquette, Partridge, Owen WI, the Minneapolis subdivision at Stanley depot, the MP352 bridge at Chippewa Falls, Colfax siding, Bateman, Cadot, MP333 at Boyd, South Itasca, Saugus on the DM&IR line, Parkham, the Duluth area, South Range, Rock Mount, Hawthorne, Solon Springs, & more.
Besides the WC, there are other road names like Norfolk Southern, Conrail, CN, Union Pacific, LMSX Leasing, Lake Superior & Ishpeming with Burlington Northern U-Boats, Southern Pacific, & CSX.
There are lots of motive power on the Fallen Flag from older SW1200 switchers to the mighty SD45s.

Winter railroading in Wisconsin can be tough. Plets takes us across some of the snowiest parts of the system to provide great shots and great detail. Plets never disappoints. You’ll like this video.
