The ‘Ole Weak and Weary came to be in 1916, operating from Winchester, VA, to Gore, VA, and beyond. Today, the road is no longer “Weak and Weary”. It still operates to Gore where a sand quarry mine industrial sand. You are like it to see WW hoppers on most any train. It now operates through Winchester over CSX trackage rights to its own iron that takes it through Martinsburg, WV, to Hagerstown, MD. It interchanges with CSX in Winchester and Martinsburg and with NS in Hagerstown. In the 1980s, they acquired ex-CNJ lines in New Jersey fro Conrail. The program features a great ALCo powered chase from Gore to Winchester and cab rides on later Geeps to Hagerstown. All color, 1 hour and forty minutes, maps and narration.

another shortline in action, this time in West Virginia & Maryland. Always interesting to see these in action as these serve the class 1’s. And those who like a cab ride, some of that as well. It is a good video for those who enjoy the slower pace away from the Big 7.
