We’ll take a brief tour of the shops at Boston Lodge and a slate mine. Blanche makes a lot of noise for such a little engine, The Earl is a double Fairlie, with a central cab and two boilers!
Garratts under Snowdon
Take a cab ride on an ex-South African 2′ gauge Beyer-Garratt on the Welsh Highland Railway, and see two Garratts in action from the lineside, plus ride the train and see some scenery. The garratts are enormous machines for 2′ gauge, and what a noise they make! Thoroughly enjoyable!
