On June 12, 2016, Advanced Approach Videos made a trip to Rondout, Illinois to catch Nickel Plate Road Berkshire #765 on its Varsity excursion from Glenview to Janesville, Wisconsin. While most of the crowd followed the train, we stayed in Rondout to catch the mainline action provided by Metra, Canadian Pacific and Amtrak. Even though we visited on a Sunday, we were rewarded with a colorful parade of power and equipment. Rondout is still an ideal location for train watching in the Chicago area.
