If ever a railfan video had something for everyone, this is it: road freights, yard switching, industrial railroads, fallen flags, steam trains, loading docks, Great Lakes ships, and the list goes on. And it’s all set against the backdrops of beautiful Duluth, Minnesota and Lake Superior. The videography is excellent, camera locations are well chosen, and the narration provides some nice insights into rail operations and the history and geography of the area. The second part of this two-part series is just as good, offering an in-depth look at railroading around Superior, Wisconsin. Together, they’re two of the best from Plets Express!

Plets Express is one of my favorite producers. He has footage that is rare and always has interesting information to provide. I have grown to like the Duluth Missabi and Iron Range Railroad because of this video production.
