Moving trains efficiently on “the busiest piece of freight railroad in the world” can be a challenge in the best of weather. But in an unforgiving Midwest winter? See for yourself. The railroad action is what you’d expect from the triple track main … a steady parade of trains, often multiple movements at once, with heavy trains routinely meeting or passing. But the weather adds an entirely new dimension to this program, and even the sound is different. The videography is very well done, in conditions that must have been difficult and often unpleasant. You’ll be glad you’re watching this one from your living room. Thanks, Highball!

Stunning . Excellent work producing this video. For anyone who has ever worked in severe winter conditions, you will appreciate this video. It is awesome to watch the trains highballing along the rails with the snow blowing around and kicking up from the trains. Trains are meeting each other and passing each other. No matter what the weather conditions are…. they keep rolling. High credit to the photographer for going out to see this and putting it to video.

This video makes me cold just watching but was very interesting. I love the Union Pacific Rail Road. I have lot of respect for the people who brave these dangerous conditions for video taping or photographing trains. If the scenery wasn’t good enough the weather creates a breathtaking atmosphere. It will really pull you into the scene.

This DVD covers some ot the busiest freight railroading in the world. Snow, snow and more snow. See action from O’Fallons and Gibbon Junction. This is a great film if you are an avid snow lover with trains roaring down the tracks. Some really good in your face action. 4 stars and 2 hours and 8 minutes long.
