Shot between O’Fallons and Gibbon Junction on Union Pacific’s Overland Route. This is the busiest piece of freight railroad in North America, averaging over 125 trains a day. This is Highball Productions’ most requested sequel. Triple Track #1 is a best seller and this DVD is more of the same: Coal trains, grain trains, drag freights, autoracks and speeding intermodals all pound the rails for continuous heavy duty action, with loads of meets, lots of new “wings” and some run through power. Shot from dawn to sunset over several days in August 2002, this is big time railroading at its best.

The volume of traffic is staggering! The triple track main again lives up to its reputation with a steady parade of trains … often multiple movements at once … with high-horsepower locomotives pulling a variety of consists. Camerawork and editing are very well done, and with the video shot dawn-to-dusk, the “mood” changes gradually as the daylight changes. A nice follow-up to Highball’s 1998 release “Union Pacific’s Triple Track Main”, and even though the programs were shot just a few years apart, it’s worth owning them both!

If you purchased the 1st Triple Track Main video, and you enjoyed it….. then you will want this one also. If you are a rail fan who loves lots of trains…. this is an excellent purchase. There is no end to the trains on the UP main between O’Fallons & Gibbon Junction. Lots of coal drags, lots of intermodal, lots of everything that rides the rails except…. passenger trains as they do not run on this line. These videos were so good and impressive that my wife & I have made the 1,600 km trip to Nebraska now 3 times to see the triple track main. The video does a great job showing the excitement of the line.

The triple track main of the UP system in Nebraskais a busy hot spot. See all types of trains, from coal, intermodal to fast moving freights. If you have ever wanted to railfan this line, this video will make you want to even more.
