Trackside on the Durango & Silverton

There are two trains per day from Durango, and we enjoy scenes leaving Durango, and from a mountain perch overlooking Durango and the river with a great perspective. The train travels for several miles before climbing Hermosa Hill between Hermosa Tank and Rockwood. There’s a scene at Beaver Creek Canyon, sometimes called the “Little High Line” and caught two trains in the area, including one along the river, and another passing the old depot. The weather is perfect with clear blue sky for all these scenes. There’s also a segment riding the train where we show a few scenes along the Animas River above Tacoma, then at High Bridge, and along the High Line in the late afternoon showing the cliffs and Animas River Gorge below.
