Featuring 46 Different Television Commercials from the 1970s, ’80s & ’90s Lots of Santa Fe commercials from the 1970s! Did you know Santa Fe owned the largest fleet of covered hopper cars in the country, owned oil fields producing 45,000 barrels a day, and moved produce cross-country for 1/2 cent a pound? Eleven different Santa Fe commercials promote these and other interesting facts!
Best over-and-under Santa Fe shot! Two Santa Fe trains meet overhead while two more move toward you on parallel tracks below. Airborne cameras capture the same setup in this commercial about SF’s new Barstow Yard. Of course other railroads are not forgotten, including the Union Pacific. 🙂
Amtrak action and more! See the Zephyr, Empire Builder, Southwest Chief, and other Amtrak trains sell “There’s something about a train that’s magic.” Meanwhile, GM advertises their Electro-Motive Division and auto carriers; the AAR pushes freight trains over trucks; and many other products from Snickers bars to Levis jeans use trains to convey speed, power, adventure, and fun!

This video is alright. It has mostly Amtrak commercials. I wish it had operation lifesaver commercials. The video is still good.

45 minutes of mostly Amtrak commercials, which got reparative.
