Never having purchased a Clear Block Production before, I was not sure what to expect. A very wise decision to have purchased the SOO Line series. Vol. # 1 starts off great, and never loses it’s appeal as the producer takes us from Chicago to Lacrosse, then north to St.Paul/Minneapolis. Lots of heavy weight trains working hard along the way. Beautiful scenery, especially along the Mississippi River. Very impressed with the video and looking forward to more from this producer

A very well done, comprehensive and entertaining look at a Midwest favorite. The first part of Clear Block’s three-volume set features a nice mix of urban and prairie railroading as it travels the Soo Line from Chicago and Milwaukee to the Twin Cities. You’ll see a nice cross-section of the Soo’s handsome locomotive roster and a variety of train consists, primarily manifests and grain trains. Solid, creative camerawork showcases not only the trains but scenic highlights and notable locations along the way. Volume 2 continues the tour from the Twin Cities to Portal, North Dakota and Noyes, Minnesota, and Volume 3 follows the Kansas City and Louisville lines … and they’re every bit as good as Volume 1. In all, it’s nearly six hours of great Soo Line coverage, and you’ll enjoy every minute!

Excellent video. I Love the Soo Line. Wish I had gotten to see it. Charles Smiley is my all time favorite producer. His videos are the most informative and professionally put together. I would call them true documentaries. If you like to learn about railroads this is the guy to watch.
