Along the north bank of the Mohawk River in eastern Upstate New York is CSXT’s mainline to and from the Midwest. On a beautiful mid-June day in 2006, we set out to document the passage of every train from sunrise to sunset. The location was from the grounds at Lock 13 of the NY State Canal System. With over 15 hours of daylight, 47 trains were seen! This program shows all of them, complete with their symbol, origin, destination, and time of day using brief on-screen graphics.

  1. Dan

A great snapshot of contemporary railroading, a spectacular setting … and none of the waiting! If it was rolling on northeast rails in the early 2000’s, chances are you’ll see it in this program. The videography is solid, and on-screen graphics provide the essential details about what you’re seeing. It’s everything you’d want in a great day of railfanning, with all the downtime edited out. Well done, BKVP.

  2. Lloyd.

Water and rail routes are always wonderful to see. Put them side by side and you have a great combination of excitement. This video is no exception. Lots of foreign power, long trains, beautiful landscape, and informative information makes this a favorate in the video library. It’s a “must have” for the railroad video fan.
