This DVD contains many scenes of NKP #587 operating on the Fair Train between Noblesville and Fishers, along with many of the engines trips in the 1980s.

It is great to see a steam engine running and showing the beauty of this piece of history. To be used as a commuter hauler for an event like the state fair was a wonderful idea. I gives people the opportunity to see what helped build North America and make it great. Excellent production

I was born and raised in Fishers, Indiana… Right next to the former Peru to Indianapolis line the Hoosier Heritage Port Authority let the Indiana Transportation Museum run on. I have MANY fond memories of NKP #587 up until 2003 when she was taken out of service. This really hits “close to home” for me… Literally… This DVD is perfect if you are looking for the most comprehensive coverage available regarding the history and operations of the “Engine Of Broad Ripple Park”, the “Pride Of Central Indiana”… Those things she certainly was, indeed… She will likely never return to operation again, and is always dearly missed. What recently happened to the ITM in 2018 was a total debacle… a very sad thing. This production by Les Jarrett and company immediately brings back all those treasured memories of what things USED to be like in Noblesville, Fishers, and Indy. Unfortunately, things there will NEVER return to the way they once were. That ship has long sailed… PLEASE purchase and treasure this trip down memory lane if you love 2-8-2 Mikados, anything to do with my GREAT Home State of Indiana, or just Nickel Plate steam in general.
