Pay a visit to northern Minnesota and enjoy some steam freight and passenger trains on the North Shore Scenic Railroad between Duluth and Two Harbors. This area has a rich railroad history, and our special trains help relive it. We see Duluth and Northeastern 2-8-0 steam locomotive #28, which is also relettered in her former livery as DM&IR #332. You’ll step back in the old times seeing the steam locomotive in action, pulling freight and passenger cars from the Lake Superior Railroad Museum collection.

Highlights include:
* Watch as Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range #332 pulls a string of DM&IR ore cars, a sight not seen since the 1950’s.
* #332 Pulling a passenger train
* Duluth & Northeastern #28 pulling a mixed freight and passenger train.
* DM&IR diesels on passenger runs
* #28 pulling the regular North Shore Scenic Railroad passenger train.
* Enjoy a ride in a locomotive cab!

You’ll also see some ore boats in action as well as an ocean ship. Here, in Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, WIsconsin the railroad and lake shipping are intertwined.

If you like steam railroading, then this program is for you!

    In this Hour long video from last year, there is a great variety of action at the Lake Superior Railroad museum, which includes Go pro footage of on board the train, and in the cab of DM&IR 332/D&NE 28. Just like N&W 611 on Home Rails, this was the second time that music from The America by Rail collection Except for Winter Wonderland by the late Mike Lynch is included. There is lots of action in the water with a variety of cargo ships, and ore ships. Some of these clips in this video was shown on Railroad Video Quarterly issue 101 by Revelation. Overall, Great action from Les’ angles, as well as his own narration.
