Steam in the Summer can be hot and humid sometimes but if you can find a steam schedule run, you’ll likely want to climb on board. Watching this show made me look up what is in my area. Great action. Recommended.

Steam trains… part of our history, preserved for fans of all types to see. Hear the sounds and see the beauty of these beasts in action. While I am not a fan of excursion train service, it is nice to see these beauties in action in a modern way, simply for tourist attractions. Overall, a good presentation.

This program showcases steamers that are still in operations, and engines that, at the time of the videos production, were no longer operating, such as NKP 587 and N&W 611.

One of the best compilations of steam action ANYWHERE! If you are looking for variety, then look no further! This is your “ticket” to ride aboard some of the finest trips in modern preservation history!

Steam and summer go hand & hand in this excellent video to watch. I would recommended this to be part of your video collection.

This 2005 video shows some samples of engines including some flashback segments which some are no longer operational as of today. First comes the Cumbres & Toltec with 487 heading from Chama to Osier to meet with 484, then comes a 1999 flashback to the Indiana State Fair Train since Nickel Plate 587 last operated in 2002, and today just 15 years later, it is still in pieces. Heading south we head to the tennessee valley museum to see former US Army 610 in operation as today the engine is on display since Southern 630 & 4501 tookover the operations. Back west we’re at the Durango & Silverton to see the Eureka on a special run from Durango to Rockwood Steam engines 480-482 are also shown as well. Back east again we’re at the now gone Ohio Central Railroad as we’ll ride the cab of Canadian Pacific 1293, and finally comes a short segment of Greg Scholl’s Memories of N&W 611 on the run from Cincinatti to Columbus via Portsmouth on September 21, 1994. Today since the fire up campaign, and the new NS Manager who loves steam, the program is back and 611 is still operational since what happened 2 years ago today. Overall, good Footage From Les Jarrett as well as his own Narration, plus some special thanks to John Craft for the Tennessee Valley Segment, and Best Friend Greg Scholl for the 1994 footage of 611.
