A snowy day, a great railroad and a steam engine combine to make this a wonderful video! On January 5th, 2008, the Massachusetts Bay Railroad Enthusiasts chartered a steam excursion on Conway Scenic Railroad to run a steam excursion from North Conway to the Sawyer River bridge, six miles up the track from Bartlett, NH and return. Over two feet of snow was on the ground as Black 5 Video captured ex-Canadian National 0-6-0 number 7470 and her train as she covered the 30 mile round trip journey to the Third Iron and back making the scene look like a picture postcard! Join this steam excursion on a very snowy Conway Scenic Railroad with this DVD from Black 5 Video.

Before the photo runbys were underway, there is an opening commentary from former General Manager Russel Seybold, which includes preparations at the 1874 built Victorian Station, 4 Stall roundhouse & turntable, as well as being towed by former Maine Central GP7 number 573 between the North Conway Yard & west of Bartlett on the former MC Mountain Division between Portland Maine & St. Johnsbury Vermont which the line was opened near the end of 1994 after operating on the former Boston & Maine branch to Conway Center. There are also a couple of onboard scenes as well. Throughout the special, 7470 is wearing 2 different whistles.

15 years after these footages were recorded, some of the diesels on one of New England’s most popular tourist lines have since been sold to different owners. An example would be center cab 44 toner switcher number 15 which is shown in the opening scenes.

This is one of the few Black 5 Video titles to be reissued by Green Frog Productions.
