The autumn season is a great time to see steam locomotives in action. There are usually several steam photo charters scattered around the country where participants can get great shots of steam with pretty leaves, or great Indian Summer lighting.

In “Steam in the Autumn” you’ll be treated to 7 different locomotives putting on a great steam show during the autumn season. Locomotives include: Canadian National 4-6-0 #89, Cliffside Railroad 2-8-0 #40, East Broad Top 2-8-2 #14, Grand Trunk 4-8-4 # 6325, Norfolk & Western 4-8-0 #475, Ohio Central 4-6-2 #1293, and Western Maryland Scenic 2-8-0 #734.

Autumn is a special time with falling leaves and beautiful Indian summer days. Just like going on a Fall trip to see the color, here the steam locomotives are complimented by the wonderful color. More importantly, it’s great steam action and stack talk.

Personally, I am not a fan of excursion steam. These grand beasts of the past were made to work…. hard, & this type of steam operations never really show that. However, the video does show t he beauty of the engines, and we get to hear the glorious sounds as they do what is intended for. And the fall colours are well worth seeing. So over all, a decent production that is worth owning.

This program showcases steam on both freight and passengers train during a time of falling leaves and cool weather.

You can NEVER go wrong with the stunning colors of fall in October and November! The highlights of this program are definitely all the steamers at the Strasburg Rail Road and Western Maryland Scenic Railroad Consolidation #734. A memorable look back!

I love this DVD, and I especially love the Ohio Central and East Broad Top segments, defiantly worth it.

This 2005 over-produced DVd features lots of Great steam action in Ohio, Pennsylvania, & Maryland. The Ohio Central segments were shot at the same time that Pentrex, & Greg Scholl were there for their own programs. The New Hope & Ivyland #40 which includes an uncut blooper of one of the leaves blocking the camera’s eyes, The Strasburg Railroad with all 3 engines (GW 90 hauling regular passengers, CN 89 & N&W 475 on a special freight train during 2003-2004 at the same time pentrex was there for “Extreme Steam 2”). The out of business East Broad Top Railroad with #14 in the Rain(Also Pentrex was there too.) And a 2004 visit to the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad with the now gone and Disassembled LS&I 734. Overall despite this was over-produced, this program was awesome, with brilliant footage & Narration From Les Jarrett Himself.
