In the mid to late fifties, Jerry Carson recorded on crisp, sharp 16mm film the end of steam in the U.S. and Canada. Jerry’s excellent photography captured operations on many roads still holding onto the steam engine. 14 railroads are covered in this exceptional collection of steam: Chicago & Northwestern, Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, Missouri Pacific, Erie, Chicago & Illinois Midland, Pennsylvania Railroad, Northern Pacific, Grand Trunk, Illinois Central, Baltimore & Ohio, Norfolk & Western, New York Central and the Rock Island. Plus two Bonus Videos included:

    Originally made in 1984 as one of the very first Green Frog Titles ever made & reissued in 1993, this program contains a bunch of locomotives which most of them have since been scrapped.

    Engines featured in this video are:

    1. Chicago & Northwestern Class H 4-8-4s, A Streamlined Class E 4-6-2 & non-streamlined Class E Pacifics.

    2. Grand Trunk Western U3B 4-8-4s, 4-6-2s, A Streamlined Northern that led to the Creation of Vinnie from the 2016 Thomas the tank engine movie-The Great Race, & a 2-8-2.

    3. The Milwaukee Road with a lone mikado on a freight.

    4. Chesapeake & Ohio with a couple of Pacifics.

    5. New York Central with 4-6-2s & Mighty 4-6-4 Hudsons.

    6. Rock Island with P Class 4-6-2s.

    7. Norfolk & Western with Y Class & Y6B 2-8-8-2s, Class A 2-6-6-4s, 4-6-2 number 578, K Class 4-8-2s, & class S 0-8-0s. (This Segment was later used in Steam Giants Across America)

    8. Erie with an unknown engine on a freight switching tracks.
