Steam & Diesel on the New York Central, Volume 2

It’s the second half of 1955 and we are witnessing the last days of steam on the New York Central’s Ohio Division, the old Big Four in Ohio. By February 1956, it would all end and diesels would be ensconced forever.

Along with the expected NYC steam, we do start to see some of those darn diesels creeping in, and we get a side trip in the form of Don Krofta’s 1955 trip to St. Louis during which he filmed NYC steam in Indiana, Illinois, and then other steam on the Illinois Central, and the Chicago & Illinois Midland.
