St. Louis, the Gateway to the West, has plenty of railroad action to keep railfans busy… and watching! In over an hour we stay inside the city limits and yet see a huge variety of action. There are 6 Class 1 railroads that work this gateway: UP, BNSF, KCS, CSX, CN and NS. All the major players are seen, including those who don’t rate a “Class 1” status, with the exception of the Alton & Southern. We’ll look at hot spots such as MacArthur Bridge, Grand Interlocking, St. Louis Produce Row and Downtown.

Shot between in 2017 and 2019, this is an up-to-date look at the third busiest rail gateway in the United States. Available as standard definition DVD or high definition Blu-ray.

St. Louis is often overlooked because of Chicago and Kansas City being close by. However, while not as busy, I found that there is still alot of variety in St. Louis.

I bought this program from eBay to get acquainted with the area for an upcoming vacation this fall. I found the video to be a wealth of information without an over abundance of distracting narration. My only let down is there were no on screen maps, but I have been able to find the locations easily on Google.

I am now looking forward to my trip to St. Louis, however, I dont think my girlfriend will appreciate the fact that I am looking more forward to the trains than going to a Blues game or visiting her cousins!

Overall a great program, one that you will never regret buying!

Best program that I have seen on the area in years! I really hope there is a follow up program or programs that will cover the rest of the St. Louis area.

St. Louis doesn’t have enough attention from the railfan community (unless you live here!), but this might change that. The quality of the video, the recent action and the variety of action really make this a great “Gateway” train show!!

An overall great program showing railroading in the heart of Saint Louis itself, the famous spots on the Illinois side are not shown nor is Kirkwood MO but that is fine. My only let down was that despite what one might think by the cover, that the TRRA would be well shown with their sharp red & white motive power throughout the program whereas in realty only 2 TRRA trains are shown with their own diesel power, but I still recommend this program to those that are interested in big city freight railroading with emphasis on more industrial settings.
